During pregnancy a woman's body undergoes many changes,
some of them stressful and uncomfortable. Massage is a
perfect way to reduce stress and promote general well-being.
We will be using as many pillows and blankets as you need
during your pregnancy massage. This modality will focus
on relaxation and relief for specific areas of your body
as you go through this amazing journey.
Common problems for muscle pain in pregnancy tend to
focus on the lower back/hip area, and the upper back/neck
area. The low back is being pulled at more of a curve
than usual with the result of then pulling on the upper
back as well. These areas need the tender care of massage
to give you the relief you deserve. During your visit,
we will give you the option of lying on your stomach by
using special comfort pads specifically designed for pregnancy,
or on your side with the aide of pillows and blankets
to keep you as comfortable as possible.
Is Prenatal Massage For You?
Massage during pregnancy is very safe in most situations.
If you are however having any complications with your
pregnancy, we will require approval from your primary
health care provider before giving any massage.
